Westchester Media Works is building on over fifteen years of experience designing interactive software that educates and entertains. We design software that is fun and easy to use, yet cost effective to develop and maintain.

We develop software from the ground up, and we offer individual services to assist with specific areas of development. Examples of our work can be found throughout the country, including installations at the Federal Reserve Banks of Atlanta, Philadelphia, and San Francisco; the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio; and the New England Aquarium in Boston, Massachusetts.

Interactive Software Design

We design interactive software for museums, exhibits, halls of fame, and educational institutions. With a focus on education, we use text, images, sound, video, animation, and interactive graphics to build experiences that make learning memorable and fun. Uses range from the creative presentation of informational, educational, and historical content, to exciting single and multiplayer games.

Touch Screen Centric UX Design (User Experience Design)

As its name suggests, UX design is the process of improving a user's experience as they interact with a program. Touch Screen Centric UX Design simply means user experience design that is specific to touch screen interaction and control; including graphic design, content organization, content accessibility, visual feedback, and aural feedback. We've gained a lot of experience in this regard over the years, and are continually looking to improve the user experience as technology evolves.

Analog to Digital UID (User Interface Design)

Our interactives are not limited to a touch screen interface. When more traditional and tactile forms of interaction are required, like buttons, switches or joysticks, we have the experience needed to ensure a reliable, user friendly analog to digital UI.

Accessibility

Most of the software we've developed includes closed captions for the hearing impaired; we've even developed a utility to simplify the creation and playback of closed captions on our stand-alone kiosk software. We also have text to speech tools available for the visually impaired. If you have specific accessibility requirements, please ask, we are happy to help.

Custom Coding and Technical Development

We've been building interactive software for over fifteen years. Over that time we've developed libraries of code that streamline the development process and reduce costs. But every project presents unique challenges, and our forte is developing custom code to meet these needs. Whether we are tasked with developing a traditional stand-alone kiosk or a contemporary cloud hosted solution, we have the experience and tools needed to get the job done right.

We specify the equipment on the majority of our projects, and over the years we've come to know what equipment we can rely on. As an authorized reseller for Dell, IAVI, and TecNec Distributing, we have direct access to thousands of quality brand name products for use on your projects.
