Monitoring Monetary Policy
The Monitoring Monetary Policy interactive introduces visitors to key economic indicators and monetary policy tools used by the Federal Reserve to promote growth and stability in the economy.
Six videos, each representing a decade from the 1950s through the 2000s, present a historical overview of how monetary policy has responded to changing economic conditions.
The 2000s decade video, produced by Westchester Media Works in coordination with Christine Fontana and the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, examines major events of the era—from Y2K concerns and the dot-com bubble to 9/11, corporate bankruptcies, global conflicts, Hurricane Katrina, and the financial crisis—highlighting their influence on monetary policy decisions.
